Director interview

High damping alloy M2052 with high versatility and various possibilities.
Today we talked about Mr. Takeshi Hosoya who is the director of  laboratory about its charm and possibilities.

Why is it M2052 now?

- Thank you for your busy schedule today.
- As soon as possible, please tell us why this laboratory was established.

Director Hosoya (Director): When searching M2052 on the Internet, many suppliers are coming out, but most of the homepages explains about M2052 using similar materials. But I do not know well what kind of merchants can do and what I would like to sell because it is unclear. In addition to reflecting on ourselves that M2052 could not be put on the market in the past, I felt it important to know the appearance of M2052 and founded this research center. In particular, I believe that giving business owners and investors interested in the M2052 project will be able to hand over their 20 years experience.

- Why is the director pay attention to this damping alloy M2052 ?

Director: I think that the recent building design technology has greatly advanced and I think that structural analysis in the base isolation and earthquake resistant designs is soon-sounding. But I felt the doubt that more than 90% of the design technologies in other fields had questioned whether quality was being driven by trial and error in the evaluation result of the prototype. In addition, I think that structural analysis is not very useful for solving the problem of vibration and noise of second-hand goods. There are methods such as strengthening the rigidity of the structural parts and adding a damper, etc. to solve problems of vibration and noise afterwards, but it is more normal that things that can not be changed drastically once changed Snow The reason why damping alloys are required from the old days is that they have the potential to be able to solve the problem by just adding it. However, there were no damping alloys that were easy to use and capable of shape designing on a case-to-case basis. That is why I kept chasing M2052 for 20 years was the closest to that condition.

What the Laboratory is seeking

- In the case, the director founded this institute and what are you trying to do?

Director: Our laboratory is seeking successors or groups of all technologies related to M2052, investors, businesses. Please provide capital and organization of M2052 project and invest in the laboratory as well. The initial amount is $181927.80[¥20,520,000], one year later $181927.80. The laboratory will carry out its own activities with its investment money and will also cooperate with the M2052 project. I will pay expenses separately haha. Also, after investing, we will naturally delete the recruitment items for investors and businesses from the website.
We can disclose M2052 manufacturing technology, how to use, ideas, etc., to help you create business plans and investment plans and connect our partners. You can also doctrine about approaches to vibration and noise problems.

- I see. Is not it just a promotional website?
- In fact, the director himself has a lot of ideas for business development.

Director: That's true haha. If you show off just a little, for example using a washer made of M2052 makes screws less likely to loosen. I want to mold MIM with powder. I want to build a clay damper. I would like to collaborate thin wires and ceramics. If you talk about ideas, there are as many as you can haha. M2052 is a quaternary alloy of manganese, copper, nickel and iron, but it has the characteristic that mutual intermetallic compounds are not created. So, instead of manganese, iron can be the core twin type alloy, probably will be cheaper. I think that it would be good for M2052 to become a recognized alloy like a shape memory alloy.

- The more you hear the story I think, the more like a dreamlike alloy.
- Why is this alloy not circulating around the world?

Director: How to make functional materials major Aside from increasing the number and quantity of applied products. I think that the company called Seishin made a mistake in approach. Because it focused on the way to obtain needs by answering consultation from the user side with vibration problem, it was influenced by enthusiasm of user engineer. Although I do a little prototype experiment, is it only me who feels as many engineers give up as soon as I can not get the results I expected?
Therefore, I tried to advance planning my own products, but I collapsed to the contrary haha. As long as mass production is possible, prices are naturally lowered. I believe that a company that firmly develops products will be able to put M2052 on the market.
And around that time, I got a lot of ideas like the above.

Prospects for the future

In the end, let's say, I would like to say as president's ambition, if there is a prospect for the future, please.

Director: Damping alloy M2052 is not yet JIS or ISO standard. In order to be standardized, it is widely applied and must be evaluated. The steps necessary for that are

(1) Various application examples

(2) Establishment of evaluation method for M2052 goods

(3) Standardization of Material Manufacturing Method of M2052

(4) Standardization of material components

(5) Specification of impurities

(6) Regulation of material evaluation method

Consideration is necessary etc. These tasks require a large number of human resources, ranging from scientists, manufacturers and corporations in the field of applied merchants. My dream is standardization, I believe that the first step for that is the M2052 laboratory. M2052 research group has been sought after seeking business operators and investors in many fields and expanding the organization centered on those people, and further dreaming of the M2052 Industry Association ahead of that.

- A spectacular future is waiting for you.
- Thank you very much for taking the time to be busy today.

Director: Thank you very much.
